Elegy for Brass Band [for C/D Grade] (Score only)
The composer, Fraser Bremner, wrote this work around his own experiences with personal loss and focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel. In the Oxford Dictionary, the word Elegy is described as a poem of serious reflection and, sometimes, a lament for the dead. Although this piece of music isn’t so much about the loss of life, it is focused on the loss of things that are meaningful to a person. The composer’s focus for this work was on moments in his life when he was struggling as a result of loss and how he managed to find positivity out of these negative situations.
Elegy was written for the Eastern Bay of Plenty Brass and their Musical Director, Andrew Leech, and dedicated to both Andrew & Bronwynne Leech for their years of continued friendship and love.
